Reliance Jio has announced complimentary 100 minutes of calls and 100 text messages till 17 April. The company has also announced that users will continue to receive incoming calls even after their validity expires.The 100 minutes of calls and 100 SMS free can be availed anywhere in the country, till 17th April 2020. Reliance Jio also partnered with banks to provide recharge facility using ATMs alongside online options like UPI and net banking recharge. The company released a statement saying, “Some JioPhone users are still unable to recharge and need it (telecom services) the most, especially during such important times. Hence, Jio is going the extra mile for its JioPhone users."
The company confirmed that all JioPhone users will continue to receive incoming calls post validity.
Other network providers have also stepped up to help their respective consumers during the 21-day lockdown that was announced by PM Modi last week.
BSNL prepaid users can also use their numbers till April 20, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad announced on Monday.
"The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has decided that prepaid SIMs will not be discontinued till April 20. For outgoing calls, a ₹10 incentive has been provided automatically from today so that the poor and the needy people continue to work," Minister for Electronics & IT, Communications and Law & Justice Prasad told ANI.
Earlier, even Airtel announced that the company will be extending their validity for users till 17 April. The telecom company claimed that it was doing so in order to serve its customers in low-income areas.
