DODA, NOVEMBER 25 :
Police on Friday arrested one person alongwith 60 bags of Government cement in Doda district.
‘'Acting on tip-off regarding misappropriation of Govt Cement by employees of JKPCC, a police team on the intervening night laid a naka at Bharat Nala on Doda-Bharat Road,'' police spokesman here said.
He said that during checking, a truck (JK06-7506) was intercepted, which was loaded with cement bags.
He said that on inquiry, the driver did not reply satisfactorily and during checking, 60 bags of cement issued for JKPCC was seized.
‘'The officials of JKPCC have misappropriated Govt Cement by means of criminal breach of trust causing loss to the state exchequer,'' police added and said that driver namely Rayees Ahmed, resident of Koti and one daily wager employee of JKPCC Zafrullah Shah, resident of Udyanpur, District Doda were arrested on the spot.
A case under FIR number 245/2017 under sections 406, 409 of RPC was registered and investigations were on, police added.
