Suspected COVID-19 patient left on stairs at Srinagar CD hospital


A picture of a suspected COVID-19 positive patient is now doing the rounds of social media in which she is seen lying on the stairs of a hospital in Jammu & Kashmir.??In the picture, a woman can be seen lying in front of the Chest Diseases (CD) hospital in Srinagar while another an attendant is seen trying to comfort her as they try to get her admitted in the hospital.??Reportedly, the woman patient was being shifted from Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital in an ambulance to CD hospital but the driver left the duo on the stairs without shifting them in the hospital. As soon as the woman was dropped from the ambulance, the driver left the place without carrying to shift her inside the hospital or arrange even arranging a stretcher.??As the picture went viral and people started triggering outrage on social media, the head of Chest Medicine, CD hospital Dr Naveed Shah responded, "Nine patients were transferred from SMHS to CD hospital in one go.??"Could not have shifted all pts in one go to the emergency and ward especially positive ones for fear of transmission of infection. 
Authorities informed to shift at intervals to avoid it in future.. Matter addressed," he wrote.??Meanwhile, three COVID-19 positive have died in CD hospital on Monday taking the total number of causalities to 15 in Jammu & Kashmir.??







The total number of cases reported in the Union territory now stands at 1,289, including 106 new cases on Tuesday.
